Finding Peace in a Busy World

We’re Overwhelmed by Busyness and Noise
Have you noticed how busy life gets? Between work, family, and everything else, it’s hard to find peace. I see it in my Bible study group—women juggling so much, feeling stressed and tired.
Maybe you feel it too. The world is loud—phones buzzing, news shouting, and to-do lists growing. It’s easy to feel lost in the chaos. How do you find peace when everything feels so overwhelming?
Without Peace, We Drift from God
This busyness isn’t just tiring—it’s dangerous. When you're always running, you lose focus on God. I think about my grandkids—they’re growing up in a world that never slows down.
If they don’t find peace, they might miss God’s voice. I’ve felt it myself, leading Bible studies for years. When I’m too busy, I start to worry. I forget to pray. I drift from God’s truth.
Philippians 4:7 talks about “the peace of God, which transcends all understanding,” but without it, we’re anxious and unsteady. If we stay overwhelmed, we miss the joy of knowing God.
The Holy Spirit (Chrisma) Brings Peace and Guidance
But here’s the good news: you're not alone. John says, “You have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of you know the truth” (1 John 2:20).
That “anointing” (χρίσμα, chrisma) is the Holy Spirit. He’s with you, guiding you. In 1 John 2:27, John says, “The anointing you received from him remains in you.” The Spirit isn’t just for big moments—He’s for the busy ones too.
The chrisma (Holy Spirit) brings peace. He helps you slow down and hear God. Like John 16:13 says, “When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth.”
When I feel overwhelmed, I pray, and the Spirit calms my heart. He reminds me of God’s promises, like Philippians 4:7, where His peace guards my heart and mind.
I’ve seen this in my own life. When I’m stressed, I read the Bible and listen for the Spirit’s quiet nudge. He helps me focus on what matters—God’s love, not my worries.
I think about my grandkids too. They need this peace, and the chrisma is with them, helping them stay close to God.
So, how do you find peace through the chrisma?
Pray: Ask the Spirit to calm your heart.
Read the Bible: Let the Spirit speak through God’s Word.
Rest: Trust the Spirit to guide you, even in the chaos.
Let’s trust Him together. The chrisma brings peace, no matter how busy life gets.
Let’s Reflect:
What makes you feel overwhelmed or busy lately?
How has the chrisma (Holy Spirit) brought you peace?
How can we help each other find peace in God?
Let’s Pray:
Lord, thank You for giving us Your Spirit, our chrisma. We’re grateful He brings peace and guides us into truth. May we trust Him when life gets busy. May we keep close to You, love You and want to follow You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
