Embracing God's Unconditional Love: The Heart of Spiritual Sonship
From My Home to Yours
Here I am, in my Pennsylvania house, surrounded by photos of my grandkids and memories from 50 years of ministry. I
I'm thinking about a moment that changed my spiritual walk, back at a women's retreat about 35 years ago. That's when Jack Frost’s idea of "spiritual sonship" really clicked for me.
A Heart Change
I knew in my head that God loved me, but that weekend, as we dove into scriptures about His fatherly love, my heart got it.
I remember sitting by a lake, overwhelmed by the truth that God loves me just because I'm His. It felt like a burden lifted—I didn’t need to earn His love; I already had it.
Transformed by Love
This revelation reshaped my ministry and how I connect with God. It's the kind of transformation Jack Frost talks about with spiritual sonship. Here's how this can change everything:
The Foundation: Unconditional Love
Frost teaches that being God's child is about His unconditional love. It's not just nice; it's life-changing. When you really grasp that God loves you for who you are, not what you do, your relationship with Him shifts completely.
I remember a lady in my Bible study who always thought she had to earn God's favor. Understanding His unconditional love freed her from trying so hard, letting her rest in His acceptance.
Rest and Security
Being God's son or daughter offers security. Frost describes it as a heart "at rest and secure in God's love." It's like how my grandkids feel when they visit—totally at ease, knowing they're loved.
Daily Love Experience
Living as God's child isn't a one-time event; it's a daily experience. Frost says it's about waking up knowing you’re loved and accepted by the Father, shaping how we live and love others.
Personal Encounter
While knowing God's love intellectually is good, Frost emphasizes a heartfelt experience. It reminds me of John 1:12,
Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.
Healing and Growth
Experiencing God's fatherly love can heal past hurts. I've seen this in many women, transforming their "orphan" mindset into confidence as loved children.
Freedom and Purpose
Embracing sonship gives you freedom and purpose. Knowing you're loved unconditionally empowers you to live out God's plan for your life.
Wrapping Up
Jack Frost’s teachings on spiritual sonship shows how God's love can change your life. It’s not just a concept; it's a daily reality.
When you accept you're God's beloved child, you find peace, healing, and purpose in His endless love.
Blessings,
Cindy
