Often when many Christians talk about walking by faith, what they are actually saying is they are doing something, usually involving some level of risks, trusting God and then God will either grant them success or lead them through the process.
Let’s look at the following phrases and how they fit Hebrews 11 that talks about biblical faith.
when warned…
when called..
was enabled..
offered…
These are words that describes the heros of faith in Hebrews 11. We would find that these heros’ faith are founded on specific words given to them by God.
God warned Noah about the flood, He called Abraham, He promised Sarah, He tested Abraham, He gave instructions on conquering Jericho.
Jay Snell says this: “Faith is advanced information we receive from God for us to act upon. Believing is us acting and doing based on that advanced information God has given.
"In a sense, most believers are carnal because they are not acting or doing what God has spoken, because they didn’t even hear Him in the first place!
"That is why the Bible says it is the mature sons of God that are walking in the Spirit.
The core of biblical faith is all about hearing God's voice! Embracing God's guidance means living a life that brings God's plan for us to life. Anything else is not biblical faith.
It is nothing weird to hear from God. Dead men doesn’t speak; the Living God does.
